Where BytesHood is different

  • Client sales tax, payroll tax and tax notice tracking in the same subscription as client management, billing and the portal.
  • Priced by staff seat, not by client: a one-person Single plan, or a Firm plan with three seats included, so the bill does not grow with your client list.
  • Each firm on its own dedicated server in the United States.
  • Monthly billing if you prefer not to pay a year upfront.

When TaxDome may suit you better

  • You prefer a longer-established vendor with a large existing user community.
  • Your team is large (up to 20 people) and you serve fewer than about 150 active client accounts a year.
  • Your firm does not need client sales tax or payroll tax tracking and mainly wants workflow and a client portal.

Questions

Is BytesHood a TaxDome alternative?

Yes. Both are practice management software for U.S. tax and accounting firms. BytesHood adds client sales tax, payroll tax and tax notice tracking, prices per firm (a one-person Single plan, or a Firm plan with three seats included) and runs each firm on its own U.S.-hosted server.

Which costs less for a small firm?

Using published prices checked November 2, 2026, TaxDome starts at $1,500 a year for 150 active client accounts and rises with client volume; its calculator showed $5,175 for 500 and $9,000 for 1,000. BytesHood Single is $500 for the first year for one person, and BytesHood Firm is $800 for the first year for three staff ($1,000 a year after), whatever the number of clients. A larger team with fewer than 150 active clients can pay less on TaxDome. Confirm current prices with both vendors.

Can I move my firm from TaxDome to BytesHood?

Yes. BytesHood’s Move in, in Firm Settings, has step-by-step instructions for TaxDome. Export your accounts, contacts, invoices, payments, jobs and tasks from TaxDome and drop the zips TaxDome emails into Move in as they are. You check every client before anything is saved, a client already on file only gains what it lacks, no one is emailed, and the whole move can be undone for 30 days.
